to the home page |
| MISSION: | Quality, personalized financial and management services tailored to the sophisticated needs of high wealth individuals and growing or emerging businesses. |
| FOCUS: | Our practice specializes in providing accounting and financial management services for entities or individuals with sophisticated needs who cannot support the volume to engage full-time employees. Our service model relies on a core of dedicated, experienced employees. The size of our Firm allows us to provide the depth of staff with varying levels of expertise; yet retain a hands-on approach to each individual client. The owners and management of Shreve Bowersox, P.C. have substantial experience as CPAs in public accounting and in key management positions with private companies and Family Offices. |
| OUR ROLE: |
Our role is to assist the client in identifying his/her financial goals, then develop and implement a plan for attaining them. We serve as a liaison among the client and the members of his/her advisory team (attorney, tax CPA, investment managers, bankers, insurance brokers,…). We organize and maintain the financial records; thus facilitating the effectiveness of the other advisors. Of prime importance, we streamline the client’s involvement, allowing him/her to focus on decision-making and strategy with the advisory team. We coordinate the information gathering and implementation. We complement the work of a client’s independent CPA and, receive many of our referrals from CPAs and tax and estate attorneys. We do not perform audits or reviews of financial statements. We assist with tax return preparation and planning - but direct the major tax issues to other professionals who devote their full attention to tax matters. Often we serve on the client’s behalf as the principal day-to-day contact with their tax professional. We find that the needs of each client frequently span from administrative and accounting tasks to complex transaction analysis. We employ a team approach whereby professionals with varying levels of expertise maintain familiarity with the account. Our team can optimize the skills of each member and provide depth of resources as appropriate. With certain clients we supplement or support the efforts of client staff. |
| FAMILY OFFICE SERVICES: |
Each individual’s needs are unique and will vary with the complexity of their affairs and the level of involvement they wish to maintain. We begin by developing an in-depth understanding of each client’s financial profile. We accumulate and summarize information to build a permanent document file (corporate articles and by-laws, partnership and LLC agreements, trusts, cash and investment accounts, wills, previous tax returns, foundation documents, ..) We establish or supplement detailed accounting records. Having established this base, we tailor the nature and extent of our work to the individual client’s goals.
Typical services include: Personal financial administration; bill-paying; monthly cash reporting on income and expenses; coordination of estate planning including strategizing with advisors and implementing approved plans; asset management; trust administration; long term and short term cash flow planning and modeling; investment due diligence; coordination of private foundation activities, coordination of insurance renewals; estate administration support; SEC reporting for insiders and affiliates; … |
| CORPORATE SERVICES: |
We can bring value to small, growing entrepreneurial organizations by providing them with access to a financial team typical of a larger organization.
Frequently our services are linked to the businesses of our Family Office Clients, although we also serve entities for whom their operations are our sole focus.
